In her long standing running feud with Asin, she has won a major battle. She has replaced Asin in Fairever fairness cream ad.

Fairever is one of the most successful fairness creams in the country.

Asin and Fairever go back a long time, it was Asin’s first major ad she did after becoming a movie star.

A brand manager said: “Asin was face of Fairever for the last so many years. Her relationship with CavinKare the maker was special, and was their longest ever brand ambassador. I don’t know what went wrong, and has come as a surprise when Trisha shot the Fairever ad campaign.”

Preparations to film Housefull 2 are underway. A standout features of the film will be: no title track.

It’s common practice to use a glitzy title track to promote a film, since its airing on radio and TV provides free publicity. Not for Housefull 2 though.

“Nobody noticed this but unlike Heyy Babyy whose title track topped the chart list of hit music, Housefull did not have

any such title track. Keeping that in mind, Housefull 2 will not have any title track too,” says a source close to production team.

From hanging down the trees to fighting it out with insects of various species, Asin’s tryst with the film has been anything but ordinary over all these months. There’s been a buzz that Salman Khan and Asin will share a super raunchy kiss in their upcoming film Ready.

But TOI has learned that both actors have no intention of kissing. As the actress was unavailable for comment, we spoke to an informer close to the project who told us, “It is a comedy film and a family entertainer, so there is absolutely no question of having such a scene! If recent reports are anything to go by,then actor Neil Nitin Mukesh is apparently smitten by South star Asin.

Asin, who made her Bollywood debut with Ghajini, is reportedly being considered for a lot of films and Neil is only too happy for her. However, he is furious with reports of him recommending her to producers.

“Asin is a very close friend, and I see no reason why I should shy away from that. I am fond of her and we are good friends, but I don’t need to recommend her to anyone. She is a lovely actress and can get good roles on her own merit.” he shoots back.

The shooting of Siddique’s Bodyguard (Malayalam)/Kaavalan(Tamil) remake in Hindi titled Bodyguard has started in Pune.

Salman Khan is playing the role done by Dileep in Malayalam and Vijay in its Tamil version.

The heroine role, very crucial to the story is being done by Kareena Kapoor in Hindi, the character done by Nayanthara and Asin in the southern originals.

Both the heroines had done the same role in their own respective style.

Every heroine in the country is dying for a chance to work with our Superstar Rajinikanth in his next magnum opus, Ranaa. But Asin seems to be an exception. Having worked with her in Dasavataram, director K. S. Ravikumar was suitably impressed and sent her the script for Ranaa, translated to English for her consideration.

Asin was excited about the script and wanted to know which of the three heroines she was to portray. When Ravikumar informed her that she is to pair up with the middle aged Rajini and that Rekha and Deepika Padukone would pair with the older and the younger Rajini, Asin has refused the role. She said that she would willingly do Deepika’s role but certainly not the one that has been offered to her.

Whatever her charitable activities are, actress Asin and her family maintain that they would rather be quiet about it.

Asin had previously initiated an eye check-up camp in strife-torn Sri Lanka and also runs a school for the under-privileged in India.

“Asin has never really spoken about her charitable activities because she believes that these things are not an ideal way to grab headlines. So, even if she is doing something for the poor, she feels that she would rather not talk about it,” says her father Joseph Thottumkal.

It does not happen only on Fear Factor. The Ghajini actor Asin shocked Salman Khan when on his challenge, she actually popped a creepy crawly into her mouth, and then went on with her shot. A source on the sets of Ready told Mid Day, “Two days ago when the filming was on, Salman realised that a swarm of insects on the barks of the trees. When he checked with the local Thai crew, he was told that they were edible!”

The source added, “In fact some of the Thai guys collected the insects in a bucket and demonstrated that you could munch them.”
