There were many stories about how Salman Khan and Asin got along like a house on fire during the shooting of London Dreams.
But the rosy picture was shattered when rumours of an ugly fight between Sallu and Asin’s father started doing the rounds.
Now, Asin admits that Salman has been “a great friend and support”, but says the supposed fight between him and her father was “a figment of someone’s imagination”. When we quiz Asin about it, she gets defensive and shows exasperation. “Why do people keep asking me the same question? There were no fights at all. In fact, Salman and my father got along very well and he even gifted my father one autographed portrait,” she says.

Asin must be loving all the attention both on and off the screen with LONDON DREAMS round the corner. But frankly, in a film with big stars like Salman and Ajay, did she actually get ample opportunity to stand up and make her presence felt as a leading lady? Doesn’t she ever feel apprehensive that eventually the film may well turn out to be that about male bonding followed by a battle royale with her being actually sidelined?

It is difficult to survive in Bollywood without glamour. Even established actresses have been forced to go glamorous due to cut-throat competition. Rani Mukherjee exposed like never before in her recent release Dil Bole Hadippa while Kareena Kapoor and Lara Dutta stunned the audience by appearing in bikini in their recent releases. So, is our Ghajini actress Asin Thottumkal game for two-piece attire? The answer is ‘Yes’.
Asin recently said that she is not averse to wearing a bikini. She thinks it is very subjective and depends largely on how comfortable she feels with the team. She doesn’t rule out donning it in the future if the script really demands it.

She stepped into Bollywood and instantly took over the industry and Hindi audience like a fiza. She was received with same adulations down South, her alma mater. From her first Hindi film, ‘Ghajini’, Asin ki to nikal padi! This South Chori took on Hindi cinema like a fish to water.
Asin Thottumkal had taken on the acting path since 2001 through south industry. However it was only through Hindi version of ‘Ghajini’ that Asin became a universal name. After the Tamil ‘Ghajini’ hit the gold, the filmmaker decided to launch Asin for the Hindi version too. And from here the lass didn’t turn back, not even to her South industry. Like Sridevi, Hema Malini, Asin too has become a well-known star in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.

There are several common factors in this long list of actresses. They are all lissom lovely lasses who have stolen many a heart. They have all proved that they can wear sexy outfits and pose as eye candy and also sparkle in emotional roles. But the most striking factor? They are posing a threat not only to other South Indian actresses, but to Bollywood beauties as well! Each of these gals has acted or is in the process of making her debut in Hindi cinema.

Asin Thottumkal seems to have grown up. Not only does she live alone in her plush new home (close to her parents Mumbai apartment) but she also seems to have broken the shackles of being daddy’s pet. Sources say that Asin’s dad Joseph Thottumkal (or JT as he is popularly known) had reportedly agreed to get Asin to do some serious promotions for her second Bollywood release. However, despite his commitment, Asin is said to have stayed away from those interviews for mysterious reasons. Wonder who has been advising the otherwise super professional Asin, who is usually an absolute delight to deal with. All of us loved her as daddy’s little girl.

Fainting spells seem contagious in the industry. Priyanka Chopra started the trend, and now Asin follows suit. It’s worrying though, that the compulsion to maintain an hourglass figure is affecting the health of the actresses.
They lose weight at an alarming rate and resort to unhealthy dietary plans. It’s bound to catch up, sometimes even in public.
Just two days before her 24th birthday, Asin collapsed at a club in Andheri where she was doing a series of non-stop television interviews for her latest film.
