Do not be surprised. Brave Asin is going great guns these days, but did we ever imagine that she will decline an offer from award-winning director Ashutosh Gowarikar? Khelen Hum Jee Jan Sey, the film that has Abhishek Bacchan playing the lead role, has been rejected by the South Indian actress. The reason is that she felt she only got a ‘second-fiddle’ kinda role in it.

With London Dreams, Asin felt that she acted in her first full-fledged Bollywood movie. Now, as she has scored a hit, she must be feeling that she get choosy. Any commentator can think that she can afford to be choosy. Offers are coming by dime a dozen to her and she has got to make choices.

Asin Thottumkal has created waves in Bollywood with her first movie “Ghajini,” and ever since the girl has garnered much fan following. Asin and gorgeous Deepika Padukone have taken friendship between two Bollywood female actors to another level through Farah Khan’s “Tere Mere Beach Mein.” Many people around the globe believe that two beautiful and successful actors can never be friends. Well, Asin and Deepika seemed to have developed genuine friendship and proved this statement wrong.

Asin and Ajay Devgan had a fun time shooting for London dreams. A unit source revealed. “Ajay would always pull Asin’s leg and sometimes Asin would play pranks on Ajay. One day two challenged each other on tongue twisters. Ajay challenged Asin to speak Hindi tongue twister at one go, while Asin would challenge Ajay to English tongue twisters.” And invariably Asin would land up winning the game. The source continued saying, “Asin met Kajol too on the sets of London Dreams. The two got along well.” Apparently Asin met Kajol for the first time during the Ghajini shoot. “The two happened to be shooting in the same studio. Asin was shooting for Ghajini, while Kajol was shooting for Toonpur Ka Superhero. Asin went up to Kajol when she got to know she was in the same vicinity. The two have known each other since then.

Deepika Padukone will now be doing the role in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se that Asin turned down. She is excited about working in a period film with Ashutosh Gowarikar and has started preparing for her role.

Deepika was chosen after Ashutosh considered Sonam Kapoor and Genelia D’Souza for the role. Asin left the film citing date issues but in reality, she is getting choosy about films since her last film, London Dreams flopped.

The news about Deepika being a part of the film was confirmed by Ashutosh’s wife, Sunita.

Yesterday, there was an article that said that Asin had rejected Farah Khan’s offer to act opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Happy New Year. Well, both Farah and Asin have denied the news. Farah says that the film is still in its scripting stage so she hasn’t offered it to anyone. However, they have confirmed that they are friends.

It was reported that Asin had refused Farah Khan’s offer to star in her next directorial venture ‘HAPPY NEW YEAR’. But according to Asin’s official spokesperson this news is fabricated as there was no such discussion between Farah and Asin over the movie.

Asin herself clarifies, “I am extremely upset with these rumour that has obviously been floated by vested interests. I don’t understand how such rumours crop up. Farah Khan is a close friend of mine there is no way I can refuse her. There was never any discussion over the movie. We have never discussed any work so far. This news is utter rubbish. Farah is a talented director who I look up to and above all she is a friend.”

The bad news on Asin’s front does not seem to recede. If it is romantic rumors on one day then it is her ill heath the other day. In this latest development to such regressive news, it is believed that Salman gave a royal ignore to Asin when both of them reached a venue for the promotion of their film London Dreams.

The apparent reason for this seems to be the constant rumors doing the rounds linking Salman with Asin. Salman does not want to fan these rumors further more and so the royal ignore say many.

Abhishek Bachchan and Asin are teaming up for the first time for Ashutosh Gowariker’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se inspired by the Chittagong
Uprising.

The two actors will be stationed in Goa for 60 days from November 3. Abhi will fly to Mumbai over weekends to spend time with wife Aishwarya, and also to promote Paa where he is seen with Vidya Balan. It is said that Abhishek also misses his parents when he is away for long, so even a one-day trip to home puts this Bachchan bachcha back in good spirits.

After Ghajini, everyone expected Asin to sign films left right and centre. But, she chose to work in London Dreams. She told trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently: “I haven’t been on a film-signing spree because the process of filmmaking is important to me and I can’t take breezy decisions.”

So does she have a strategy to balance movies here and in the south? “Not at all. I decide on a project purely on its merit,” Asin said. And what’s so special about London Dreams? Sounds a bit like Rock On. “What rubbish! Just because it’s about a music band doesn’t mean it’s like Rock On,” Asin said.
