Deepika Padukone has taken Preity Zinta’s place in the BSNL ad; it’s Katrina Kaif instead of Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Pantene and Nakshatra respectively; the John Abraham-Bipasha Basu duo has made way for Kareena Kapoor in the Head and Shoulders commercials; and it’s Genelia instead of Rani Mukerji in the Fanta ad.
Titan Raga and PepsiCo have also dropped Rani Mukerji and Shah Rukh Khan respectively as their brand ambassadors. Clearly, the old order is changing in the world of advertising and endorsements and a new set has stormed the scene.

Rani Mukerji has always been touted as the reigning queen of Yash Raj Banners. With her professional intimacy (and probably much more) with Aditya Chopra, Rani Mukerji has secured all Yash Raj projects for herself, and that is what she wants it to be like in future, too. Agreements and contracts between film studios and acting talent is a natural progression in today’s era of corporatisation in Bollywood. But what are some of the weirdest clauses celebrities have come across when they were all set to sign on the dotted line?

Asin became the toast of the town after Ghajini released and that hasn’t gone down well with many senior actresses.
Asin was offered a Yash Raj film opposite Shah Rukh Khan after Katrina Kaif refused to do it, probably because beau Salman Khan would not have liked her working with SRK. Alas, Kat’s loss couldn’t become Asin’s gain because reportedly,
Rani Mukherji, the uncrowned queen of Yash Raj Films ( YRF), didn’t like the fact that Asin was being given a chance instead of her. So, Rani made her point clear to Aditya Chopra, who finally gave in to her tantrums and so, Asin lost out on a plum role because of her.

Asin is working with another super Khan, Salman Khan, in Vipul Amrutal Shah’s London Dreams. Meanwhile, director Nikhil Advani has also expressed an interest in casting Asin along with Akshay Kumar for an upcoming flick called Patiala Dreams.

If all had gone well Asin would have moved into her own home in Mumbai by now.
“But I’ve been traveling non-stop. I had no time time to look around and find a place. But now we’re finalizing a place in Bandra. Hopefully by new year I’ll lock in to the place. And we’ll move in. Right now we feel a little unsettled. In Mumbai you desperately need your own home.”

Sushmita Sen’s careergraph seems to be heading downwards. Whether it is film assignments or ad deals, the beauty queen-turned-actress’ projects are constantly hitting dead-end.
The latest buzz is that Sush has lost her endorsement contract with Pantene shampoo and the company is looking for a ‘young face’ to replace her.
Interestingly, Pantene’s move comes immediately after Sushmita’s dream directorial debut, Rani Lakshmi Bai, was shelved. Last heard, Sush is looking for a new set of investors for her Rs 130-crore film.
