The first look of Salman Khan’s next film Ready is ready on the airwaves, and the buzz around town is already about Asin essaying the lead role in the film opposite Salman. In the original Telugu hit, Genelia D’Souza had played the part, but Asin has surprisingly replaced her in the Hindi remake.

Down south, Asin and Genelia are close rivals. While Genelia has been around for nearly a decade and is well established in the Telugu film industry, Asin has done mostly Tamil films and created a strong standing for herself there. And since the two have such varying personalities, the role has been tweaked somewhat to suit Asin better. “Genelia’s influence on the film has gone away completely, and replacing it will be the material written keeping Asin in mind,” the source added.

Asin, on her part, insists that it wasn’t a conscious decision to move away from what Genelia has done in the original version. “From the scenes to the screenplay to the background and the characterisation, everything has been changed. The original had a college theme which isn’t there anymore. I wasn’t even conscious of the fact that this role has been played before,” she says.

Recently, the girl was at a salon in Khar to do her nails and people were surprised to see her need for privacy. Said a source, who had visited the salon at the same time, “Bipasha Basu often comes to this place and is always very chilled out. She doesn’t try to hide her face or anything of that sort. Many other actresses, including Preity Zinta, come here too. So, it was very strange to see Asin wanting to conceal her identity under the veil. For what? She surely isn’t going to get mobbed!”

Though Asin must be on cloud nine given the fact that her forthcoming film READY is making the right noise, but here’s something Asin needs to worry about.

Firstly, READY being Salman’s film means that all eyes are going to be on him. This film belongs to Salman solely and Asin needs to worry about this fact. So, far she has been completely overshadowed by his stardom.

According to trade observers, “Asin is facing the same situation as she faced with her debut film -GHAJINI. That film was completely dominated by Aamir’s stardom and READY is proving to be the same. Though on the film front READY might be a lucky draw for Asin, but on an individual front it can’t do much for her as the presence of Salman is bound to take all attention away from her. And to tell the truth, it is already apparent in the promotions of the film.”

Though Asin might be talking to all and sundry about her next big release, but the fact that her act is getting overshadowed by Salman’s charisma should be a cause of worry at the same time.

Asin has been appreciated for her work in Hindi films by her co-stars.

Salman Khan for one is all praise for Asin’s reportedly tremendous performance in the Ready remake. Having come from the south, Asin has managed to impress the Bollywood stars. But the Bollywood media have a grouse.

They have been continuously commenting on her ‘attitude’ on the sets, which she has never shown as a south Indian star. She is known for her humility and her quick decision-making.

Reportedly, she makes a fuss if her make-up and ‘look’ are not perfect. Asin has been changing her make-up man frequently, to the extent that if she’s not satisfied with her performance in a scene she immediately opts to change the make-up man. It has reached the extent where she’s changing her make-up man every week.

Sources say that so far she has changed four make-up men in the film for which she is currently shooting!

Recently, she changed the make-up man who worked with Amitabh Bachchan for decades. The film crew was wondering what exactly Asin wanted from her make-up man.

Nobody knew since Asin either stays away from the media or gives diplomatic answers, which is usually not the Bollywood style. As a result, now she’s been tagged the ‘attitude’ girl.

Anees Bazmee’s movie Ready stars Salman Khan and Asin with Arya Babbar, Paresh Rawal, Mahesh Manjrekar, Akhilendra Mishra, Puneet Issarm, Manoj Joshi and Sudesh Lehri in supporting roles. The Bollywood film is a remake of Srinu Vytla’s 2008 Telugu flick with the same name that starred Ram and Chance Pe Dance actress Genelia D’Souza.
Anees Bazmee saw in Asin the perfect girl for the role of Pooja, a girl who meets Chandu, originally played by Ram, at her own wedding, escapes with him, and moves into his house. “The role requires a ‘chulbuli’, vivacious, talkative and agile girl. Asin was the natural choice,” Bazmee told reporters.
The film tells the story of Chandu, a student in engineering at Bellar University. After helping his cousin escape with the man she loves, he is thrown out of his father’s home and goes back to live on campus. When one of his friends falls in love with a girl, the girl’s father tries to force her to marry someone else.

Chandu’s friend asks him for his help, and he decides to save the girl on the day of her wedding. However, once he gets there Chandu finds the wrong girl and helps Pooja elope instead! And that is how their adventurous love story begins.
Ready producer Bhushan Kumar told reporters: “It’s been great fun working with Salman. We share a great friendship, not to mention a fantastic working equation. It’s overwhelming to see his commitment toward the movie. He is a thorough professional and is always there with interesting inputs wherever need be.”
“I was always looking for a script which has everything and I found that in Ready. The film has lots of humor, there are 2-3 action sequences which Salman fans will love, there are a lot of dramatic sequences, and we also have good scope for music. In short it’s a total masala entertainer with proper story and screenplay,” Kumar added. Ready is ready to hit theaters on June 3. Check out the trailer here and let us know what you think!

Salman Khan is ready, and are you ready too? The Salman and Asin-starrer comedy Ready is set for June 3 release and its first trailer is out.

Full on dance, romance, masti, and action, the trailer looks promising like any other Salman film. He is back to ‘bang’ in Ready and will also do comedy to tickle our funny bones. The movie directed by Anees Bazmee is the remake of a successful Telugu film with the same name.

The movie also boasts of a slew of amazing characters which are going to be essayed by Paresh Rawal, Arya Babbar and Mahesh Manjrekar who all are in supporting roles. Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Kangana Ranaut, Zarine Khan and Arbaaz Khan will make cameo appearances in the film.

The trailer shows how Salman fights for his pyaar and punishes the gundas. The background music of the promo is dynamic, but it sounds a lot similar to a Telugu hit track Ringa Ringa that features Allu Arjun. For the film Pritam has composed the music, so we can expect another terrific music album.

It’s time for Asin to hog the limelight. After reporting about her comeback, now listen to who all stand in awe of her acting skills.

Now, it is the turn of her directorAnees Bazmee to shower some praise on the actress. According to the filmmaker, who has directed her in her forthcoming film READY, “Asin is a surprise package. I was bowled over by her acting prowess and she comes worth such lucidity on screen that you cannot stop admiring her.”

Bazmee also feels that pairing Asin and Salman Khan once again will be a super hit combination. Their earlier film LONDON DREAMS though bombed at the box office, but Bazmee says that Asin opposite Salman in READY will overshadow this fact.

The build up to READY is growing by the day. The expectations from are film are sky rocketing with every passing day. Now that the filmmaker is vouching for READY being a super hit in the making, let’s hope the words live up to the hype.

While Asin’s last film ‘London Dreams’ opposite Salman didn’t fetch her much accolades and fame, speculations are riding high that the forthcoming Salman starrer ‘Ready’ will be a turning point in the bombshell’s career.

Apparently, the ‘Ghajini’ actress Asin Thottumkal, who had almost disappeared from the industry after ‘London Dreams’ bombed at the box-office, is once again grabbing eyeballs and becoming a sought after actress in the industry, thanks to her upcoming film ‘Ready’ featuring the ‘Dabangg’ Salman Khan.

Even before the film has hit the silver screens, the ‘Ready’ heroine has been flooded with brand endorsement offers and this shows that Asin is already in the glare of publicity.

In a conversation with the media, the industry observers said, “Asin has bagged some envious ad brands of late. Thanks to the hype that her forthcoming film READY is commanding, Asin is already benefitting from it.

“The fact that READY is Salman’s first release after the mega hit DABANGG has made it easier for Asin to attract attention. And given the Salman factor, the film has already generated huge attention when the fact is that it is still couple of months away from its release.”

Every celebrity has been a victim of bad press and it is considered that the celebrity status and publicity- good or bad, goes hand in hand. But there have been times when the media people let their imagination run wild and come up with false news which hurt the celebrities to no end. Many of them try not to react to such ugly rumors but sometimes things just go out of hand. The latest victims to such circumstances are Asin, Yuvan Shankar Raja and RaNa Daggubati.

The Kerala import Asin scorched the screens in Kollywood a few years ago and is positioned in

one of the top slots. She moved on to make movies in Hindi but she still remains a darling to the Tamil audience. Recently, a tabloid reported that Asin has some steamy scenes alongside Salman Khan for the movie ‘Ready’ and that she will also be sporting a bikini in that film. Completely miffed by such false news Asin chose to react and clear the air.

She said, “I am amused by these rumors which I noticed on the internet and some people have copied it to their newspapers. I am glad people who know me do not believe in such trash. There are no steamy scenes or kiss in ‘Ready’. It is a family entertainer for God’s sake! And sorry to disappoint you, the bikini news is someone’s fertile imagination and not the truth.”

In their short Hindi film career so far, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandes and Zarine Khan have not yet been seen in a bikini. This may just about happen when the trio comes together in Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull 2′.

“When Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone and Jiah Khan came together in ‘Housefull’, there was a clear requirement for them to don a bikini”, says a friend of Sajid, “In fact as a director, Sajid had set expectations right at the narration stage itself that since the film was young, colourful and was being shot at exotic locales, it was the ‘demand of the script’ for the girls to be seen in their bare minimum.”

Now it appears that this ‘demand of the script’ could well be extended in the film’s sequel as well since ‘Housefull’ too would have glamour playing an integral part.

Meanwhile producer Sajid Nadiadwala is shying away from sharing any details by stating that it is way too early to reveal whether Asin, Jacqueline and Zarine would really turn out to be the newest bikini babes to strike in Bollywood. He admits though a call would be taken based on how the script turns out on paper.

“When you shoot on a beach, it makes sense to have the girls in bikinis. Hence the reason why that was the case in ‘Housefull’”, says Sajid, “Since ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ was set on a road, it was not required for Priyanka (Chopra) to get into a bikini. Sajid (Khan) would take the final call around whether the three girls would be needed to get into a swim wear or not.”

One can only foresee that it won’t be much difficult for both the Sajids to create a ‘demand in the script’ here!
