I am a ardent fan of the talented award winning South Indian actress Asin, who has acted along side some big time superstar heroes of Bollywood and Kollywood. I was upset and furious to learn that certain local Indian NGOs are calling on Tamil and Hindi movie agents and theaters not to support or screen any of Asin’s movies in Malaysia.
Apparently the NGOs claimed that Asin’s recent visit to Sri Lanka for a film shooting has somewhat offended the sensitivities of the world’s Tamils. It appears that the local NGO is somewhat influenced by events in South India film world.

Asin, after all the controversy over her visit to Sri Lanka and coo chi cooing with the government forces there is back at work and that too in Chennai. Tamil community was outraged at Asin’s visit to Sri Lanka and moving in the company of the President’s wife in military helicopter. Asin was able to go to areas declared high security zones and are banned even for international media and NGOs.
Asin with all her courage poo poohed the unity call of Tamil film industry and resumed her work for Vijay’s film ‘Kaaval Kaadhal’. The actress was seen shooting with Vijay in RCR region of Chennai with out any protest even to the minimum.

After Asin’s controversial visit to Sri Lanka for the shoot of her Salman Khan starrer Ready, the actress is once again facing the camera for her Vijay starrer Kaaval Kadhal in a bungalow on ECR in Chennai on Monday.
Asin, during her Sri Lanka shoot stirred a hornet’s nest back home in Tamil Nadu when she became the first Kollywood star to visit former LTTE strongholds of northern and eastern Lanka for social and humanitarian work.
But what made Tamil film industry see red was when she took an army chopper in the company of Shiranthi Wickramasinghe Rajapaksa, wife of the Sri Lankan president.

The South Indian Artistes Association (SIAA), which had been threatening action against actor Asin for defying a ban and visiting war-ravaged Sri Lanka, has bought more time to arrive at a decision.
At the 58th annual general mody meeting on Sunday at SIAA premises, president R Sarath Kumar said a decision on Asin’s action would be taken by the Joint Consultative Committee at a meeting soon. Asin went to Colombo for the shooting of Ready,’ co-starring Salman Khan. On July 11, she visited Jaffna, the first actor to do so in 30 years, accompanied by the wife of Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa. Some SIAA members demanded that a red card be issued against her, and Sunday’s AGM was expected to come up with a road map on the issue of actors visiting Lanka. Salman seems to have taken away completely by the charm of Ghajini girl so much so that after having worked with her in dud like London Dreams he repeated her in his upcoming film Ready and also we hear that he has been recommending Ravi Chopra for his next.
There was a buzz that Salman had suggested her name to the director Anees Bazmee who was actually interested to sign Deepika Padukone. However, later it was rubbished as rumour but now we hear that he insisting Ravi Chopra to cats her although his first choice is Priyanka Chopra. So the question remains, will Asin replace Priyanka as Sallu’s heroine in Ravi’s next!
