“There is a myth that actresses don’t get along well but there is no truth in it. I have a lot of friends in the industry. Deepika Padukone and I are good friends. We share an extremely cordial relationship. I am also friends with Sonam Kapoor and director Farah Khan. I have friends in the South too. I value friendship a lot,” says Asin. Her latest film Kaavalan, co-starring Vijay, released on Saturday and has won good reviews from the media.

Vijay, the one man entertainment troupe has bounced back with Kaavalan. It’s super fun, perfect Pongal family entertainer and fits in with the spirit of the season. What makes the film tick is that Vijay with the help of director Siddique has done something different within the constraints of the formula.
The Tom & Jerry comic escapades of Vijay and Vadivel is a scream, song placements are perfect, romance is subtle but touching and the emotional climax twist is hard hitting. No Villain, no skin, no crass comedy, yet never a dull moment in the 2 hour 25 minutes movie.

Shouting from the roof-tops is not her style. Underplaying her high points is her favourite way of putting herself across. Yes, Asin is best defined this way.
Having done films with Asin and Salman Khan, the ground beneath Asin’s feet is still firm. The actress believes that it is important for her work to do the talking under all circumstances.
Her film with Salman: READY, is Asin’s biggest release this calendar, Asin hopes to silence her critics with her work this time around.

Now that M S Dhoni is happily married, one would presume that all the talk linking the cricketer with Asin would end.
Last week, at an event launching the cricket World Cup’s official merchandise, Asin was apparently more interested in knowing how Dhoni’s performance at the match between India and South Africa than in promoting the merchandise with some of cricket’s other luminaries like Irfan Pathan and Dinesh Karthik. Says a source present at the event, “Asin kept asking Dinesh about the score, especially Dhoni’s, in Tamil. What she didn’t know was that Irfan Pathan who was in hearing distance, understood and spoke Tamil. He quickly caught on to Asin’s keen interest in the goings-on at the India-South Africa match. Irfan even reprimanded Asin sportingly for being focussed elsewhere other than the event they were attending.”

Salman Khan’s next release would be READY where he has Asin opposite him. Though the film was a huge success down South, the fact remains that those who have had a dekko at it vouch for the fact that it wasn’t path breaking by any means and just stayed on to be a good ‘masala’ outing. Given the fact that Asin has been picking projects quite selectively, doesn’t she think that READY (where she is replacing Genelia D’Souza from the original) may be a little bit of gamble?

Asin kick started her career with remake of South hit GHAJINI. Her foray into an original Hindi film, LONDON DREAMS, didn’t quite reap in much benefit but now she would be seen in another remake. The film in question is READY which is the remake of namesake Tamil hit. Meanwhile she has also completed another Tamil film KAAVALAN and last one heard, there are quite a few bigwigs in Bollywood who are interested in picking up the remake rights of this film. After GHAJINI, wouldn’t it be an obvious option to have Asin feature in the remake of her own Tamil film.

It seems that South Indian beauty Asin would never compromise on her professionalism! Sources say that the actress, who as shooting deep in the jungles for Anees Bazmee’s Salman Khan starrer Ready, shot some difficult scenes despite being unwell.

Bollywood hunk Salman Khan turned nurse for Asin who fell ill while shooting for their upcoming film Ready. The actor who is reuniting with the Southern beauty after their 2009 film London Dreams made sure that she got plenty of rest and ate her medicines on the sets of the
film.
