It was Asin who made a rolling start of her career in Bollywood with Aamir Khan starrer- Ghajini, the Hindi remake of Tamil flick which starred Surya in it. Meanwhile, Asin was shining bright in Bollywood; Trishna was waiting for the right project to come her way so that she can jump into the competition with her southern counterpart in the world of Bollywood.

But now the wait is over for Trishna as she has been signed by non-other-than director Priyadarshan for his upcoming flick Katta Meeta, wherein superstar Akshay Kumar will be paired with the gorgeous lady. Not only this, Trishna has also signed three other big budgeted Bollywood flicks.

She was to travel to Japan to shoot for Bharat Bala’s The 19th Step, but now the twin factors have worked against her trip. Instead, Japanese superstar Tadnobu Asano is expected to join Asin in Kerala where the entire film will be shot.

Asin Thottumkal has stopped bringing her father along on the sets after she was requested by her c-stars to do that. The actress is currently working with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan for “London Dreams”.

Nowadays coming alone, Asin used to be accompanied by her father on the sets of her films.

Sources reveal that she was requested by her co-stars to not bring along her father on the sets and the actress has obliged them.

Asin`s “19 Steps” with Kamal Haasan has also been held up in the meanwhile.

Police on Friday solved the mystery of a missing 22-year-old who had worked as actor Asin’s assistant. Acting on a tip-off, a police
sub-inspector and a constable, disguised as junior character artistes, maintained a surveillance at a film producer’s office in KK Nagar. The assistant was nabbed there and handed over to his mother.

“We formed special teams to nab Muthukumaraswamy. Teams in Mumbai tracked his movements. While questioning him, he admitted that Asin had no role in the episode. He had gone underground after the police launched a hunt for him,” superintendent of police (Tiruvallur) M C Sarangan told TOI.

Actress Poorna has a reason to be proud of herself. The ‘Muniyandi Vilangial Moondramandu’ heroine shares similar looks with actress Asin. Chinna Thalapathy Vijay had once said that Poorna reminds him of Asin and till now even the public feels the same. But the quiet actress is only too overwhelmed with the similarities. The ‘Ghajini’ girl Asin is going to sizzle the Bollywood screens again. This time she will be romancing the sleepy eyed Ajay Devagan, in the movie ‘London Dreams’. The movie is directed by Vipul Shah and ‘London Dreams’ revolves around a rock band with same name in England. Also in the movie is Salu miyaan who plays the role of a childhood friend to Ajay.

Though the dotted line is far from being signed, it is heard that actress Asin (who hails from Kerala) would be the brand ambassador of the team.

Asin, busy practising Kalaripayattu in Kerala, is getting ready for her next film titled 19th Step opposite Japanese star Tadanobu Asano. Asin plays a princess and was to travel to Japan along with the entire film’s unit for the shooting.

But all plans to shoot in Japan have been put off temporarily due to swine flu. Instead, the Japanese star will reach Kerala soon and director Bharat Bala has decided to complete the shooting in India itself. This should make Asin’s father Joseph happy, since he had reportedly expressed his displeasure over his daughter travelling abroad, especially at this time.

Asin Thottumkal won the Best Debut Female Award for her role in Ghajini at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) 2009 awards at Macau. Thousands of specatators and fans had gathered to get a glimpse their favourite stars, and Asin walked the red carpet leading to the event auditorium.

Asin, the queen who stole many hearts, shot to fame all over India with Ghajini in Hindi opposite Aamir Khan. She is also remembered for her great performance in Dasavathaaram opposite Kamal Haasan.
