The gorgeous Asin will again sizzle on the big screen with Salman Khan after their stint in London Dreams.

Talking about her experience of working with the hottest Khan in first London Dreams and now Ready, Asin reveals that working with Salman is always fun but one thing about him that always scares her is his habit of playing pranks on her.

Asin Thottumkal and Neil Nitin Mukesh have been in the news for over a year now. Soon after his break up with childhood sweetheart Priyanka, Neil had been spotted having cozy dinners with the actress.

In 2010, Asin and Neil were signed up to play the leads in Ravi Chopra’s film titled Pocketmaar, which has not yet gone on floors. Then, on his advice, Asin went on to buy the same car as he owns the very same car that was spotted outside her place pretty often. However, the stars, like many others before them chose to maintain that they are ‘simply friends’.

Asin is back in action. After a spectacular debut with Ghajini and a rather lukewarm London Dreams, the actress teams up with Salman Khan again for her third film Ready, slated for a June 3 release.

In conversation with Sonil Dedhia, the actress discusses her role in the film, her association with the South Indian film industry and her contemporaries.

Tell us about your character in Ready?

I play Sanjana. She is an orphan and is staying with her greedy uncles who are behind her property. I fall in love with Prem (Salman Khan) and Prem decides to teach the uncles a lesson.

Earlier Asin had teamed up with Salman in 2009’s ‘London Dreams’ and now she will be seen romancing the ‘Dabangg’ hunk again in the much awaited flick ‘Ready’.

During a recent interview with the tabloids, Asin candidly spoke about her experience of working with Salman and shared exclusive facts about her forthcoming flick ‘Ready’, in which she has been paired opposite Salman.

When asked how it was working with Salman, Asin said, “I am very comfortable working with Salman. We started shooting for Ready after Dabangg was declared a blockbuster but he didn’t have any starry airs.

The much-talked about Salman Khan-Asin kiss in ‘Ready’ is seemingly similar to the one in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’.

Salman Khan’s kissing act in Ready seems to be creating waves. Firstly the actor will be seen kissing onscreen after ages. And now comes the news that the kissing scene is pretty much similar to what he did to Aishwarya Rai in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam .

In Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam , Salman offers a peck on Ash’s cheek while she is pretty much unaware. The same is the case in Ready when Salman plants a kiss on Asin’s cheeks while she is oblivious of the act.

The two, who are also part of the same project as Sallu (Ready) are smartly concealing their feelings because they don’t want to offend Sallu. We hear that Asin and Zarine are very cordial to each other every time they meet and even hold hands to show how much they bond. But the twist comes when people are not noticing them. Both, it seems, have been saying how the other is not comfortable with each others presence. While Zarine feels Asin’s behaviour towards her changes from being discourteous to even rude, Asin says she has to put up with Zarine – the newbie – as the latter is Salman’s doe-eyed girl. Quite a catfight this one can emerge to be. We certainly want nothing short of a pow wow!

Now, now, look at this actress’ transformation over the years. When Asin attended the audio launch of one of her biggest films till date, Dasavatharam, in the presence of international celebrities like Jackie Chan, she came along in a traditional and simple salwar kameez.

A few years later, after her Bollywood dreams (in the form of London Dreams) went kaput, the actress – in Chennai for a press meet for her Vijay-starrer Kaavalan, went in for yet another ‘homely’ avatar; in the form of a simple salwar kameez.

While Asin is making a huge comeback of sorts with Salman Khan starrer READY, in the original Telugu version it was Genelia D’Souza who was the leading lady. Though Genelia had her own characteristic style in display for the film, Asin being a senior actor herself had all the right reasons to explore the same character differently. “So off went any Genelia influence whatsoever on the film’s screenplay and in came the written material that was in accordance to what Asin would have wanted for her part in the film”, informs a source attached to the film. Also Asin was assured that she would be given a very good deal with READY despite Salman being on an all time high and hence expected to hog all the limelight.

With Ghajini, Asin Thottumkal made a dream debut in Bollywood in 2008. The Aamir Khan-starrer was then the industry’s top-grosser and Asin was hailed as the next-big-thing. Once the Ghajini fever died down and Asin’s next London Dreams (2009) tanked, the actor from the South was found missing from the league of top B-town girls.
