Actors who won this prestigious award include Asin, Nayantara, Meera Jasmine, Shobana, Pasupathy, Saroja Devi, Vyapuri, Bharath, Sundar C., Anu Haasan (small screen) and Abhishek (small screen).

Cheran won the award for his directorial skills and Abhirami Ramanathan was elected as the best film producer. Harris Jayaraj has been honoured by the Government for his excellence as a music director. Others in the cine field who won a Kalaimaamani are Aishwarya Rajnikanth, “Vetham Puthitu” Kannan (dialogue writer), R.D. Rajasekar (cinematographer), Chitra Swaminathan (photographer) and Anandan Sivamani.

Apart from them, 53 artists received the award for excellence in various fields, including music, oratory, literature, small screen, traditional and folk dance forms, and theatre.
