The first film in a two-film deal that Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s blockbuster films have struck with Fox Star Studios India has been announced.

The yet untitled film, a remake of the Tamil hit KAKA KAKA will star John Abraham and Asin. The film will be directed by Nishikant Kamath.

Said Fox Star Studios India CEO Vijay Singh, “It is still too early to talk about the film right now but we will come out with a formal announcement soon.”

One of the films will be visual effects-driven fantasy action film while the other would be a contemporary romantic comedy.

“There are very few who are sincere, punctual and workaholics to the core, and Asin is one of them,” says Salman Khan. He had seen her work with him in London Dreams and the next film Dabangg is also happening. It is a remake of the Telugu film Kick (Ravi Teja, Shaam, Ileana). Asin had thoroughly impressed him and the unit people by working nonstop for 22 hours that too for three days continuously. She is simultaneously doing commercials and keeping her film and modelling career balanced.

Asin is in deep trouble. The Southern actress is already in the bad books of the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) that has formed a joint consultative committee to decide on the action to be taken against actors visiting Sri Lanka. The actress recently visited Lanka to shoot for a Bollywood film ‘Ready’ opposite Salman Khan.

Along with SIFAA, yet another organization has taken up the issue against Asin. The Federation of Tamil Associations of North America (FeTNA), an umbrella body of more than 30 Tamil organisations across the United States, has decided to boycott films starring the actress on the same grounds.

I was just wondering where the petite Asin has disappeared… And a chidiya from Chennai dropped in, announcing that he has some tiddy-bitty on the Ghajini gal. She’s currently down South, shooting non-stop for her Tamil film Kaavalan with Vijay… So much so that she’s been

unable to enjoy her favourite activity, reading. Seems she had taken a couple of books to read during breaks and after pack-up. But forget reading, she hasn’t got time to even look at them.
Chidiya tells me that the only thing that Asin wants to catch up on these days is her beauty sleep. Reason: sometimes she needs to be up at 4 am for an early morning shoot… And it’s not before 8:30 in the evening that pack-up is announced. Phew!

Just the other day the Mumbai press said that Priyanaka Chopra was dropped off at the Mumbai airport by Shahid Kapoor, and the couple were going steady. Now the talk is that Priyanka Chopra is upset not with Shahid but Asin because she teamed up with her boy friend for a TV show in which Asin had to help Shahid speak in tamil. The verdict by the audience was that Asin and Shahid looked a good pair and that was enough to turn Priyanka red and mad! Asin is currently doing Ashutosh Gowariker’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey where she shares screen space with Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Vishakha Singh and Ready opposite Salman Khan.

No sooner Shahid Kapoor patched up with his girlfriend Priyanka Chopra, reports started to flow from every corner that they had a fall out. They had a spat over south sensation Asin. Shahid’s growing closeness with Asin did not go well with Priyanka.

Asin while doing an ad with Shahid in Hindi and Tamil bonded over the Tamil language. Since Shahid does not know Tamil, the ‘Ghajini’ actress was seen teaching him with great interest. They shared a good camaraderie.

Bollywood, it seems, can’t get enough of actor Asin’s charms. After Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, the latest to be enthralled with the South Indian beauty is Shahid Kapoor.

Recently, Asin and Shahid were shooting a TV commercial. Asin, a linguist of sorts, knows seven languages including four South Indian languages, Hindi, English, and French. She was seen playing the tutor to Shahid, teaching him to speak a couple of sentences in Tamil.

There is a common adage that goes ‘The only thing that’s constant is Change’. One has seen many a Bollywood star getting replaced in films and also brand endorsements for many varied reasons. The latest in this category is that of Genelia D’Souza replacing Asin Thottumkal in the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit film Kakha Kakha. It will now be Genelia and not Asin, who will be seen romancing the hunky John Abraham.

Asin Thottumkal, the girl who has been missing in action in Mumbai, is busy finishing her Tamil film Kaval Kadal with Tamil superstar Vijay.

Asin and Vijay are the hit team of the super-hit Pokiri (Wanted was a remake of that film), so there is huge excitement about their coming together again. What is also truly heartening is the fact that those Tamil activist groups that threatened to boycott Asin because she shot for Salman Khan’s Ready in Jaffna, now seem to have eased the ban on the actor.

Well, Asin might be going (to) places, literally, to shoot for her films, but did you know that the actress feels homesick if she stays away from her home for a long time?

We hear that the actress rushes back home as soon as she completes her outdoor shoots. She even takes great pride in the way her home looks and often decorates and redecorates her room.

Apparently, the Ghajini girl also has this ’sweet’ habit of inviting all her friends home after returning from an outdoor shooting and treating them to yummy foreign chocolates. And she also munches on them while keeping her good friends company.
Well, shouldn’t we say, Asin’s habits are as sweet and endearing as her?
